Good News Theological College and Seminary (GNTCS) is a pastor training institute designed to serve pastors working in  African Independent Churches in Ghana and West Africa which adhere to indigenous patterns of worship and communication. 

Rev. Thomas Oduro the director continues to work with Lynn Hanson and the North American Commission for the Support of Good News Theological Seminary ( GNTCS ).    We have been assisting Rev. Thomas Oduro to complete his Ph.D. at Luther Seminary of St. Paul (ELCA) where he successfully defended his thesis, and completed his degree, and was able to cover all his expenses and return to GNTCS in Ghana to resume his duties. 

Dr. Klem had the honor of sitting on his thesis committee as a thesis reader and consultant and was pleased to vote with the committee so that the thesis was passed “With Distinction” with an excellent chance that this history of a Nigerian Independent Church, will be published as a contribution to West African church history.    As Dr. Oduro returns to GNTCS it is expected that the building program there will become more active, and that more funds will be needed.  GHI helped to sponsor a graduation reception for Dr. Oduro’s friends from Calvary Baptist Church, and assisted his minor son, Joel to cover tuition costs to attend a public high school in Iowa, to complete his senior year in an American school system, because it would be impossible for him to complete high school requirements in Ghana based on his years in American schools.  (We note that this has also now been successfully completed and he has returned to Ghana in June 2005.)

We must also celebrate the fact that the two students we had assisted to attend GNTCS from Sudan, have completed their course work in Ghana, and have returned safely to Sudan to assume pastoral duties there under the direction of Pastor Nicolao Vuni, a recent graduate of Bethel Seminary.  They have returned to Sudan and have taken up pastoral and teaching activities in Khartoom
