April 2009
Dear
Partners in the Vineyard,
Good wishes and greetings from Ghana! I pray that
2009 started for you with blessings and joy from our Lord.
The Lord has been so good to us in 2008 as
individuals, as a ministry and a nation. God answered our prayers during the
national elections and although there were potential for a meltdown, He
delivered us from our country to fall apart. Personally, it had been a difficult
year with the loss of both of my parents. But our Father has sustained me and
has blessed me through the many women I was able to work with in the ministries.
The indigenous women’s bible study continues to
go well. The floral decoration project was very successful and the women enjoyed
learning new skills. The executive director of our ministry Rev. Beatrice Forson
is leading the groups in Kasoa and Kotobaabi, and I am leading the Madina and
Adenta groups. Many women are interested in joining the bible study groups but
we don’t have enough women leaders. We are now planning two conferences in the
summer to train 100 women to become local leaders. This is a big deal for us and
we would like to ask for your special prayer and support so we can make it
happen.
This year I will be teaching four courses at the
seminary: Introduction to Missions, English language, Evangelism Church planting
and Church Growth. With a big need of women in ministry, I am blessed to be able
to contribute in this way. Thanks to your prayer and support Salomey Martey was
able to graduate with a degree in Theology. Salomey Appeadu will be finishing
her class work in May and will do her internship for three months. Please pray
for more women to be able to attend the seminary.
The bibles we were able to purchase through your
donation were received with joy beyond description. I thank each one of you for
your prayers and support to enable me to serve the people in Ghana.
In Christ,
Esther
