Following our merger, Mission: Moving Mountains is now known as Navigators Uganda, allowing us to continue and expand our wholistic development work.
Our Story
Navigators Uganda - Discipling for Development (D4D) is a project in the Mbale District of Uganda, under the direction of Bishop Sam Soita. Navigators Uganda facilitates community development and discipleship, creating locally-led change for those in need, advancing their economic opportunities and physical resources in a sustainable way.
We recently merged Mission: Moving Mountains with Navigators Uganda, combining our shared goals and opening new opportunities to expand our impact.
Our Impact
The work done through Navigators Uganda - D4D has covered everything from wells that provide clean drinking water, vibrant new churches, and improved agricultural techniques, to new skill development in local leaders. These skills help the community solve problems together, use their own available resources, and trust in God as He continues to move their hearts toward Him.
This holistic approach to community development empowers vulnerable populations spiritually, economically, and socially, for lasting transformation. Foundational services include:
- Whole-life discipleship training for ministry leaders and community members
- Improved agricultural methods to strengthen food security for families
- Promoting healthy homes
- Equipping youth with practical life skills
- Supporting self-initiated income-generating activities for the community
- Teaching sustainable savings and credit practices
Our Team
The Navigator's team of missionaries travels across Uganda to minister and equip communities through D4D programs.
Each team member is called to develop their own prayer and financial support partners.
Sam and Anna Soita
We have been working with D4D Mbale for 34 years and have had the privilege of ministering in over 300 communities in Eastern Uganda.
We also lead the training of Interns who come from all over Africa to train in D4D at the Mbale Training Center. We have four adult children and 13 grandchildren.
Ronald Mazune
I joined the D4D ministry 16 years ago and have served in over 50 communities, including international coaching and mentoring leaders in Rwanda, the Philippines, and Thailand.
When I first visit a village, I often sense a loss of hope and purpose. Our work aims to empower people in marginalized communities by discipling them in all areas of life. The result is transformation in health, agriculture, economy, and relationships.
Seth & Fiona Soita
We have been working with D4D Mbale for 14 years and have had the privilege of ministering in over 50 communities.
We are most excited about the work we are doing in Kitgum, Gulu, Northern Uganda, and in many new communities in the Mbale districts. We believe that God will transform lives spiritually, economically, physically, and in all relationships of the people we serve in the communities.
Adiah Watuleke
I have been working with D4D Mbale for 14 years and have had the privilege of ministering in over 50 communities.
I also serve in our Mbale Training Center, mentoring interns from across Africa who will take D4D strategies back to use within their communities.
Geoffrey Wakhooli
I have been working with D4D Mbale for 3 years and have had the privilege of ministering in over 50 communities.
Mathew 28:19-20 encourages me to continue raising up whole-life disciple makers.
Walter & Mary Gorreti Watmon
We are privileged to bring whole-life discipleship to communities in Northern Uganda, after completing a one-year D4D internship.
We believe that God will transform people's lives spiritually, economically, and physically so that they will become what God intends for them to be.
Atomic & Irene Nyeko
I am married to Irene, and we have two children, Amanda and Myles, with six orphaned siblings.
In May 2025, we completed the one-year D4D internship led by the team in Mbale and began our missionary work in Northern Uganda. We are privileged to bring whole-life discipleship to communities in this needy region.
