Our Story

The School of Wisdom ( SOW ) was born from a simple visit - one we never imagined would change the course of our lives.

In 2007, we travelled to a small rural village in Cambodia, the hometown of one of our students who had attended an office skills class in Phnom Penh, the capital city. We expected a brief visit, perhaps a quiet meal with her family. Instead, we stepped into a reality that has stayed in our hearts ever since.

The moment we arrived, children gathered around us - curious, bright-eyed, and full of joy, untouched by the hardships around them. But as we spent time with them, we discovered something deeper: many had never heard the name of Jesus Christ. Their village was full of life but lacking access to hope, education, and spiritual foundations that so many others take for granted.

That day, a seed was planted in our hearts.

Our Impact

Today, English and math classes take place after school hours, led by a dedicated couple from the village who teach faithfully, receiving only a small amount from students to cover teaching materials. It is far from luxurious, yet it is full of purpose. These young people come, not because they are required to, but because they hunger for knowledge - and for the encouragement that someone believes in their future.

And God has been faithful.

One of our greatest joys is seeing the fruit of their efforts! Many of the grade 12 students who attended the extra English classes passed their university entrance examinations. For children from a rural village, this is not a small achievement -it is a door opening for a future once thought unreachable.

This is why SOW exists, to sow seeds of faith into the hearts of children and God's people.

Our Mission
To provide a Christ-centered education to children in rural villages, equipping them with knowledge, character, and faith to transform their lives and communities.

What began as a simple visit has grown into a calling - one that continues to unfold through God's grace, sustained by love, hope, and the belief that every child deserves a chance to rise.

And this is only the beginning.

The School of Wisdom is directed by missionaries Paterson and Nancy Yude.
