Featured Project: Food for His Children – Field Officers making significant contribution to families

Dr. Margaret Thompson, Food For His Children’s missionary veterinarian, reports…

In the past I have written about the field officers that were hired in January of this year. Though they are still learning the ropes, they are making significant contributions to the welfare of the families who are participating in Food for His Children’s ministry. Their role is more than just checking up on the participants and reporting their findings back to the office. The following is a report (unedited) from, Christian,  one of the field officers:

“One year ago Yusuf’s daughter was attacked by a dog and by that time her parents didn’t have enough money for taking her to the hospital, so they decided to sell a buck and earn 60000 Tanzania shillings and now a child is doing good, she recovered and she still doing great with her studies. Since the family joined the project they had 9 goats, they completed pass on, and currently the family has remained with 5 goats. Production of crops of maize pigeon pea, and beans, goat project and fire wood making is the major sources of family income which contributing to 500,000 as a family annual income. The family has a dream of living a good life of having quality living house, and ability to send kids to school, they believe they could achieve all of this by putting God in front of their life and to increase more power on production of crops and proper goat keeping. ”

Field officers, like Christian who wrote this report, invest a lot of time working with FFHC families to help them see a way out of their poverty by using the resources they now have. They instill hope and help families plan steps they can take towards achieving one goal at a time, one step at a time. Please join me in praying that our field officers will build strong relationships with the families they serve, and in doing so point them to Christ and help them work their way out of poverty. Thank you for your priceless partnership in this ministry!

Serving in His love,
Margaret
