Our Story

Since 2013, IFAGE (formerly Ekklesia Foundation for Gender Education EFOGE) has been at the forefront of fighting for equality and justice for women and girls in Sub Saharan Africa. The main objective continues to be addressing gender-gaps in the African context and to challenge structures and systems of patriarchy, poverty, and attitudes in the society which fuel violence against women and girls.

Our Impact

The IFAGE strategy is to harness the potential of faith groups and religious communities in sub-Saharan Africa in order to address and transform harmful social gender norms that are the root causes of sexual and gender-based violence, injustices, and inequalities of the area.

We fight to overcome these issues that are deeply entrenched in the socio-cultural, religious, political, and economic institutions and that continue to oppress, disempower, and endanger the lives of many women and girls in the society, based on gender.

Our Programs

  • Integrated Faith and Gender Justice Leadership

  • Women's Health and Safety Program

  • Positive Masculinity and Biblical Gender Equality Training

Your donation directly provides services for victims of gender violence and empowers our communities through training and prevention.

"For the last seven years, we have...empowered more than 5,000 key faith leaders, about 9,000 women and men in community leadership, 18,000 youth in schools and colleges...We sincerely thank our partners and friends for prayers and support than enabled these great achievements."
