GHI Fall Newsletter 2024 – Walking With the Lord

Dear Friends,

One of the perks of assisting mission projects is we get to hear the stories of how God is moving through in the lives of people all over the globe. We were blessed recently by one of our project leaders as he shared his heart for ministry. We hope it also blesses you and the Lord’s calling in your life.

Walking with the Lord

Sam Tsapwe, director of Jesus Film Ministries (JFM) in Uganda.

The Lord’s direction and calling are the best for our lives. No matter how it appears or involves on the outside, there is nothing comparable with the beauty of walking in His call on one’s life.

Serving The Lord in this call has taken me through many experiences. Some have been and looked good and easy while others very challenging. In the tough times it has appeared like things were crumbling.

In actual experience, however, they have been some of my best times of my walking with The Lord, feeling Him right by my side and His peace within me and strength to go on. I have been drawn to believe that serving The Lord is more of worship than duty. It is an invitation to walk with and see Him, His love, compassion, care, kindness, mercy for me and others.

My experience of being a witness for Christ is an opportunity to see Him and His love so earnestly and tangibly extended to people. I go to see and come back amazed. We serve an amazing God!

You are part of our faith story. The other parts are a village, community, church, home, or an individual honoring us by receiving our ministry.

The Lord is, indeed, worth serving.

Training workshop for pastors.

Since its inception in 2003, Jesus Film Ministries (JFM) has utilized storytelling, discipleship, and medical outreaches to spread the transformative message of Jesus Christ in Uganda. Highlights:

  • Presented the Jesus film over 2,000 times, reaching audiences unfamiliar with the gospel.
  • Carried out 65 leadership conferences for emerging and established leaders.
  • Conducted 30 successful medical outreaches in underserved rural Uganda.
  • Expanded a pastoral team from 4 to 20 members on the Lake Victoria Islands.
  • Collaborated with a local African church to establish 34 additional churches in Rukungiri.

JFM confronts the spiritual challenges within communities and equips churches and pastors lacking adequate training and resources for discipling believers. The rural areas they serve suffer from high mortality rates, poverty, and limited access to essential services like clean water, education, healthcare, and electricity, exacerbating hardships.
